Experience the best of Blue Water Cruising with the support and camaraderie of a full race fleet

In June 2018 the CYCA's PONANT Sydney Noumea Yacht Race will set off with a Blue Water Cruising Division opening up the trip to those who would prefer to enjoy a more relaxed journey into stunning South Pacific waters.

This adventure cruise comes with a number of benefits, the added security and peace of mind of being under the full safety umbrella of the Category 1 passage race being the most important.

In order to help interested parties to prepare, the CYCA will be hosting information evenings presented by respected offshore sailors. These evenings could also take place at other clubs who have a group of boats keen to take part.

After what is sure to be a memorable Cruise across the Tasman and Coral Seas, Cruisers will be able to enjoy the social activities around the PONANT Sydney Noumea Yacht Race and the other events planned around the conclusion of the CYCA event such as the Groupama Race. This challenge of sailing around the island of New Caledonia has been timed to coincide with other races from Auckland, Melbourne and Brisbane ensuring this exotic location is packed with hundreds of like-minded yachties.

On top of the obvious busy social calendar, a Cruise to Noumea opens up a huge variety of options for anyone looking to take in the many idyllic locations of New Caledonia and the South Pacific. The timing of the event also aligns well with making a return leg to Australia for the Queensland winter events including the Sydney Gold Coast Yacht Race, Hamilton Island Race Week, Magnetic Island Race Week and the Brisbane to Keppel Tropical Yacht Race.

Participants of the PONANT Sydney Noumea Yacht Race will be eligible for Australian Sailing's Cruiser of the Year award. Please visit the CYCA PONANT Sydney Noumea Yacht Race website for more information.
